Congratulations to art history graduate student Tiffany Miller (G ’22) for her excellent post about George Fisk Comfort, after whom the art history graduate organization in our department is named. Comfort co-founded the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Syracuse Museum of Fine Arts (now known as the Everson Museum). He also helped found the American Philological Association. Our department is one of the last vestiges of the College of Fine Arts he headed as a dean at Syracuse University.
