Amanda Eubanks Winkler, Professor of Music History and Cultures, Chair of the Department of Art and Music Histories, and Co-Investigator of the AHRC project Performing Restoration Shakespeare, was co-convener of a roundtable at the Renaissance Society of America, “Thinking Through Performance: The Pleasures and Pitfalls of Performance-Based Research.” On April 20th she and Katie Larson (Professor of English, University of Toronto) moderated a conversation with leaders in the field of performance-based research who have worked on a variety of theatrical and musical projects, including Performing Restoration Shakespeare, Early Modern Songscapes, Engendering the Stage, Dramatizing Penhurst, Read Not Dead, and Games and Sport in Children’s Indoor Performance.
