Dissertation: Fierce: Black Queer Literacies of Survival

My research interests include African American rhetoric, Black feminist and womanist theory, Hip-Hop culture and Hip-Hop pedagogy. My research focuses on how race and sexuality are constructed in popular culture and language. My research draws on the work of Geneva Smitherman, Gwendolyn Pough and Adam Banks.
