Prea Persaud, joins the UNC-Charlotte Religious Studies Department

Prea Persaud (MA '13) joined the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte as a lecturer in Hinduism in Fall 2018.  In addition to teaching courses on Hinduism and the Hindu Diaspora, she will also teach courses related to Caribbean Religions and courses which are part of the liberal studies degree including Global Connections and Critical Thinking.  Prea is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Florida and is expected to defend her dissertation, "God Must be a Trini: The Transformation of Hinduism into a Caribbean Religion," in 2019.
