Humanities Corridor Grant Supports the Formation of a Central NY Religious Studies Consortium

Posted on: Dec. 6, 2018

Collaboration among Central New York Religious Studies scholars is nothing new. However, Syracuse University’s Religion Department has recently made moves to enhance such collaboration. In September of 2018, the department made a series of courtesy appointments of faculty members from Colgate, Cornell, Hamilton, LeMoyne, and the University of Rochester, as well as other SU departments. These appointments enrich and deepen existing areas of faculty strength in the Religion Department, while bringing scholars together across institutions for intellectual exchange and cooperation in the training of graduate students. A Humanities Corridor grant will enable this consortium of scholars to meet together to brainstorm about their future in the course of the spring of 2019 and to organize a symposium in the fall of 2019.
