Graduate Student (ENG) and Creative Writing Fellow

401 Hall of Languages

Mary DiPrete is a first-year MFA candidate in poetry with roots in the deep woods of Oregon, the islands of the Puget Sound, and the prairies of Western Illinois. She received her BA in English literature with minors in philosophy and film studies from Knox College, where she was the editor-in-chief of the literary theory magazine The Common Room. Her work is interested in presence, absence, and their endless collapse into each other. Over the last handful of years she has spent her days leading poetry studios with elementary school students, working in Portland’s smallest distillery, and obsessing over sonograms of bat embryos.
