Kishi Ducre, associate dean for diversity, equity and inclusion in A&S, was quoted in a New York Times piece explaining the complications involved with demolishing the Interstate 81 viaduct in Syracuse. In the article, she talked about the factors, such as restrictive housing covenants, that led to the majority of Black residents in Syracuse moving to the city's 15th Ward.
