Fatma Ates completed her B.A. in Religious studies at Marmara University in 2014 and her M.A. in Islamic Studies at the same university in 2019. Her interest is in contemporary Muslim communities and intersections between psychology and anthropology of religion. Her dissertation research focuses on the role of rituals and religious practices on the mental health and wellbeing of Muslim subjectivity.
