Preceding his matriculation at Syracuse University, Dillon received his B.A. in Religious Studies with Research Distinction and Magna Cum Laude honors from The Ohio State University and his M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Colorado. Informed by the hermeneutical methods and theories of the History of Religions, as exemplified by Mircea Eliade, Charles Long, et al., his current research focuses on the experience and articulation of the ‘sacred’ in the myths, rituals, and symbolisms of modern European Pagan religions.

His research interests also include: Pre-Christian European Religion (especially Greece, Rome, and Northern Germanic Europe), Magic/Witchcraft, ‘Shamanism,’ and New Religious Movements.

Dillon designed and taught a course on ‘Myths and Cults’ and is teaching ‘Religions of the World’ for Spring 2024.
