Yalian Pei (she/her/hers) joins the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Arts and Sciences in Fall 2023 as a tenure-track assistant professor. She will teach classes in speech and language sciences, and the assessment and treatment of neurogenic communication disorders including those resulting from brain injuries or neural degenerative disorders.

Challenges during recovery and gaps in post-brain injury support. Return to school after concussion. Functional cognitive-communication treatment. Assessment and treatment selection to achieve activity-level goals. Home-based therapy and self-management. Social participation in in-person and virtual spaces.
