four covers of Intertext

Intertext is an annual publication of the Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition at Syracuse University. It features the work of undergraduate students and represents the quality and variety of writing produced in its courses.

To submit an essay, attach your work to an e-mail message in which you state the WRT course number, instructor, your address, phone number. Include “Intertext Submission” in the subject line and send the e-mail to Patrick W. Berry at pwberry@syr.edu. Submissions are accepted on a continuing basis.

Selected essays will be considered for the annual Louise Wetherbee Phelps Writing Award for best lower- and upper-division writing.

Submissions are evaluated on depth, complexity, technical control, emotional and intellectual appeal, and how well they reflect the goals of the department.

Issues are available on SURFACE, the Syracuse University Research Facility and Collaborative Environment. Select covers and links to issues appear below.
