LeMoyne College
The Consortium for Culture and Medicine (CCM) is a cooperative interdisciplinary program of LeMoyne College, SUNY Upstate Medical University, and Syracuse University. Founded in 1978, CCM focuses on the cultural, ethical, social, and psychological dimensions of medicine and healthcare by:
- Offering accredited courses linking the humanities and social sciences to practice of medicine and healthcare;
- Sponsoring faculty seminars and community events;
- Encouraging interdisciplinary research in healthcare.
Faculty members from the three cooperating institutions represent academic disciplines such as Anthropology, Economics, Health Policy, History, Law, Literature, Medicine, Medical Ethics, Philosophy, Political Science, Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology. Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School will be hosting a pathway summer program in 2021. The Biomedical Careers Program (BCP) targets undergraduates from groups underrepresented in medicine (URIM) or economically and/or educationally disadvantaged backgrounds who are pursuing a career in medicine. BCP offers an intensive four-week summer pipeline program for students at different stages of their undergraduate education and preparation for medical school. Students take part in a variety of science enrichment courses, academic support, and success seminars, clinical or volunteer experiences, career and professional development workshops along with student wellness activities. Program Dates: June 7 to July 2, 2021. There is NO FEE to participate in the program. Application Opens in February.

Virtual Event registration at Tour for Diversity in Medicine
Tour for Diversity in Medicine and the Post Baccalaureate Pre-Health Program at the College of Science and Technology, Temple University have partnered to provide a virtual event for students from diverse backgrounds interested in the health care professions and the advisors and mentors that support them. This multi-evening (6-9 PM) event, February 2-5, 2021, will feature informational workshops with students, physicians and deans on topics such as critical test-taking strategies, the importance of mentorship, interview skills, and more. Speakers include T4D Mentors in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and optometry, as well as current and former CST post baccalaureate students and professional students. The final evening features a panel of admissions deans and directors from Philadelphia medical, dental, podiatry, and physician assistant schools.
