Shukri A. Mohamed received a BA in History and Peace and Global Studies from Le Moyne College in May 2021. Her Senior Honors Thesis entitled "Naag Nool: Political Struggles of Somali Women in the Liberation Movement and Post-Colonial Politics" explores the evolution of Somali women in politics from liberation to post-independence. Her research interests include Pan-Africanism, the intersectionality of race, religion, and gender; African women in politics and policymaking; and the future of Africa. Shukri is also involved in the Syracuse community at large as an organizer and youth leader.
