Mallory's dissertation research focuses on the experiences of Ambedkarite Buddhist youth and is based on fieldwork at a Buddhist training center in Nagpur, India. She earned her MA in Religion from Syracuse University in 2014 with her thesis “Caste in Thirdspace: Theorizing Caste in Modern India with Edward Soja’s Thirdspace” and her BA in World Religion and English Literature from McGill University in 2012. She has language skills in Hindi, Marathi, and Sanskrit.
