Grace Fritzke finished her B.A. in Religion at Whitman College in 2018 with an honors thesis on the politics of memory at Whitman College. She worked in 2018-19 for Tamástslikt Cultural Institute (Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation) as a research associate focusing on the 1847-48 transmission of measles in the Walla Walla Valley and surrounding region. She is interested in definitions of religion and secularism in the United States, especially as these understandings intersect with public memorials dedicated to colonial and confederate figures. Outside of academia, Grace enjoys eating watermelon, finding cats to pet, and dancing.
