Duygu is a PhD candidate in Religion with a Certificates of Advanced Study in Women’s and Gender Studies, and in Middle Eastern Affairs. She got her MA degree in Cultural Studies from Sabanci University and BA degrees in English Language and Literature and in Philosophy (double major) from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. Duygu examines material culture and discourses of sexuality and gender. Her dissertation explores how design impacts production of meanings in ways that can reproduce or disrupt heteronormativity.
