Research Interests

Numerical linear algebra with applications in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), specifically:

  • Efficient simulation of large-scale fluid-structure interactions
    • Fast multipole method for the regularized Stokes formulation
    • Preconditioners for linear systems arising from CFD
  • Pseudospectral analysis of large, sparse matrices
    • Numerical methods for computing the real structured pseudospectral abscissa
    • Numerical methods for finding the real stability radius
  • Numerical methods for linear stability analysis and bifurcation of large-scale dynamical systems
    • Solvers for large-scale, non-symmetric eigenvalue problems
    • Solvers for large-scale Lyapunov equations
    • Numerical methods for detecting bifurcation phenomena
