The College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) announces that Daniel T. Bernardi will join its staff as communications specialist starting November 18.

In the A&S communications office, Bernardi will serve as the primary writer on the content team, focusing on thematic research, alumni achievement and current student stories. He will also assist with communications support for Dean Karin Ruhlandt.

As part of his writing responsibilities, Bernardi will help identify, plan, and execute opportunities for multimedia storytelling. “I am thrilled by this opportunity to join A&S,” says Bernardi. “From faculty research to distinguished alumni, there is so much to talk about. I am eager to get started.”

“Daniel will be integral in meaningfully telling the College’s story to our audiences on campus and around the globe,” says Daeya Malboeuf, director of communications in A&S. “With his background in journalism, he’ll bring a fresh perspective to how, where and when we share A&S news.”

Bernardi comes to A&S from WSYR News Channel 9, where he was newscast director for the morning and noon news programs. His decade-long tenure at WSYR included news writing, feature writing, graphic design and video production.

Before joining WSYR, Bernardi served as assistant editor for Today’s CNY Woman and wrote for other local publications. At CNY Woman, in addition to identifying and coordinating stories, his duties included all aspects of story production, including photo shoots, interviews and video components. A fan of the Orange, he has occasionally written freelance stories for Syracuse athletics.

Bernardi is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo with a B.A. in communications and resides with his wife and daughter in Camillus.
