Fulbright Writing Workshops Offered

Workshop offer help for students planning to apply for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship or Research Study Award

The Fulbright U.S. Student program offers research, study and teaching opportunities in more than 140 countries to graduating seniors, recent graduates and graduate students.

Syracuse University’s Center for Fellowship and Scholarship Advising (CFSA) will host a series of writing workshops for students planning to apply for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship or Research/Study Award in the 2018-19 application cycle.  CFSA staff will be on hand to provide feedback on application essays on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, Aug 21: 1:00 – 4:00 pm in 306 Bowne (Honors Library)
  • Thursday, Aug 23: 1:00 – 4:00 pm in 306 Bowne (Honors Library)
  • Tuesday, Aug 28: 3:30 - 5:00 pm in 013 Heroy Geology Building
  • Friday, Aug 31: 1:00 - 2:30 pm in Bowne 306 (Honors Library)
  • Tuesday, Sept 4: 3:30 - 5pm in 013 Heroy Geology Building
  • Wednesday, Sept 5: 2:00 - 3:30 pm in 347 Hinds (Katzer Collaboratory)
  • Friday, Sept 7: 1:00 - 2:30 pm in 306 Bowne (Honors Library)
  • Monday, Sept 10: 12:00 - 1:30 pm in 347 Hinds (Katzer Collaboratory)

Applicants should bring four copies of their draft personal statement and statement of grant purpose to receive feedback from peers and CFSA staff.

The campus deadline for Fulbright applications is Sept. 13 at noon.

The CFSA website, nationalscholarships.syr.edu, provides a scholarship directory, information on application processes, tips and guidelines for prospective candidates as well as a listing of upcoming information sessions and workshops.
