Fulbright Writing Workshops Offered

Workshop offer help for students planning to apply for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship or Research Study Award

Syracuse University’s Center for Fellowship and Scholarship Advising (CFSA) will host a series of writing workshop for students planning to apply for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship or Research/Study Award in the 2017-18 application cycle.

he Fulbright U.S. Student program offers research, study and teaching opportunities in more than 140 countries to graduating seniors, recent graduates and graduate students.

Workshops will be held on the following dates in Room 341 of Eggers Hall unless otherwise noted:

  • Friday, Sept. 1, from 1-2:30 p.m.;
    • Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 3:30-5 p.m.;
    • Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 2-3:30 p.m.; and
    • Friday, Sept. 8, from 1-2:30 p.m. (this session will be held in 204 Maxwell Hall).

Applicants should bring four copies of their draft personal statement and statement of grant purpose to receive feedback from peers and CFSA staff.

The campus deadline for Fulbright applications is Sept. 11 at noon.

The CFSA website, nationalscholarships.syr.edu, provides a scholarship directory, information on application processes, tips and guidelines for prospective candidates and a listing of upcoming information sessions and workshops.
