On Saturday, May 9, 2015, nearly 1,100 students graduated from Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences. Family and friends filled the bleachers of the Carrier Dome to watch each student have their name called and receive recognition of their academic achievement along with a keepsake college pin.

Dean Karin Ruhlandt addressed the enthusiastic audience, taking time to remind the degree candidates that their hard work has prepared them to think critically and act strategically in their future careers.

“A degree from the Arts and Sciences will not only allow you to meet the challenges of the ‘real-world’ but exceed expectations,” declared Dean Ruhlandt, who is also a distinguished professor of chemistry. “Armed with a degree from Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences, you can succeed and excel as you walk down your own unique path.”
