Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to welcome Frances “Fran” Hradil as director of development in the Office of Advancement. Hradil’s appointment is the latest in a series of additions to College advancement, designed to leverage national support for scholarships, endowed chairs, professorships, and expanded and enhanced facilities.

Hradil (pronounced “RAY-dill”) brings nearly 20 years of development, marketing, and events planning experience to The College. Her career includes healthcare, arts, and environmental and conservation causes. Hradil’s most recent tenure was with Partners for Arts Education, serving as their director of strategic development. Prior to that, she spent 11 years with the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park, successfully overseeing their $6 million campaign, and three years with Syracuse Opera.

“Fran is joining our team at a critical time,” says Lisa Moore, Arts and Sciences’ assistant dean for advancement.  “We have an exciting agenda to move The College forward, and are thrilled to have someone with her experience and enthusiasm.”

In addition to her professional activities, Hradil dedicates time to the local community by serving on the boards of the George and Rebecca Barnes Foundation, Leadership Greater Syracuse, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is an active volunteer with AIDS Community Resources and is a member of the American Association of Museums.

Arts and Sciences is one of the nation’s premier residential liberal arts colleges, committed to interdisciplinary learning, research, service, and enterprise.
