Chief Forensic Investigator for Onondaga County and Syracuse University FNSSI Adjunct Professor Brian Ehret recently received the Onondaga County Sheriff's Special Recognition Award. Sheriff Eugene Conway stated "Having played a significant role in modern day forensic science and being a steadfast advocate for the need for standardized death scene procedures, you have lectured on local, state, national, and international levels regarding the importance of legally defensible medicolegal death scene investigations, as well as the importance of proper protocol and etiquette when working closely with grieving family members. You have worked alongside members of the Sheriff’s Office to investigate both natural and unnatural deaths. These investigations have included some of the most horrific crimes and accidents, as well as the more frequent natural passing of loved ones. No matter the situation, you have always displayed the highest level of professionalism and provided the upmost sincere compassion for the families of victims." Watch the ceremony.
