Cassidy is a first year MA student studying 19th century British literature, feminist theory, and popular culture. Her studies focus on the literary tradition of the narrative and the sociological implications of popular fiction, specifically how popular 19th century novels are reconstructed in contemporary culture and media. Her interests include the literary tradition of genre fiction, depictions of marriage and feminine confinement, the relationship between hypermasculinity and violence, and the narrative.
