M.F.A Student and Creative Writing Fellow

401 Hall of Languages

Ocean Noah has two Bachelor’s degrees from San Francisco State University in Creative Writing and Comparative & World Literature, with minors in Africana Studies and Jewish Studies. Their short fiction explores thematic concerns of identity, family and relationships, faith and spirituality, mental health, and metaphysical realities. They are interested in incorporating aspects of science fiction, horror, magical realism, and contemporary cultural issues in their fiction to interpret and hopefully change the world. They founded a literary magazine at SF State, they were involved with news and literary publications in San Francisco, and they went abroad to South Africa to study writing and African diasporic literature. Ocean is a sensual Scorpio who sips on lavender lattes with books by day and experiments with fancy cocktails by night.
