Angelo Hernandez-Sias is a first-year MFA candidate in Fiction and a 2019 Beinecke Scholar. In 2020 he graduated from Columbia University, where he received the Brownstein Writing Prize for his stories, as well as the Barratt-Brown and Bunner prizes for his senior essay, “Winter Chemistry: Joy Williams and the Art of Coldness.” In 2019 he received the Adroit Prize for Prose, judged by Jamel Brinkley. Angelo grew up in Muskegon, Michigan—and on SoundCloud.
