Posted on: Jan. 22, 2018

Congratulations to art history major Jo Johnson, for being selected to participate in a private conversation with Angela Rye, this year’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration keynote speaker, on Sunday, Jan 28, in the Carrier Dome. Students are selected for this honor after a rigorous vetting process.

You may remember Jo from her fabulous curatorial initiative and exhibition titled, “Be/Longing” in the Community Folk Art Center last Fall.

Angela Rye is an acclaimed political commentator for CNN and NPR. She is also principal and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, a political advocacy firm that encourages young professionals in three core areas: economic empowerment, civic engagement and political involvement. Previously, she served as the executive director and general counsel to the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) for the 112th Congress.
