About The College of Arts and Sciences
 

The College of Arts and Sciences was established in 1870 as Syracuse University's founding college. Today, The College remains at the center of undergraduate learning at Syracuse, where all University students take classes.

The College includes 3,400 students and 530 faculty in a university of 12,500 total undergraduate students and 1,360 total faculty. Our programs and departments provide intellectual leadership in the liberal arts. Our faculty, nationally renowned leaders, poets and scientists, create a student-centered environment of discovery, creativity and excellence.

As one of The College's liberal arts students, you become an able critic and a thoughtful observer. Your educational experience prepares you for a lifetime of achievement, understanding, leadership and service. You gain skills which transfer to every discipline at Syracuse University and every professional career.
