    Biographical Information

Addie Gordon is a doctoral candidate at Binghamton University whose research focuses on contemporary architecture and its connection to broader histories.  More specifically, her work examines Peter Eisenman’s Cidade da Cultura de Galicia and Álvaro Siza’s Centro Gallego de Arte Contemporáneo and their relationship to the cultural politics of late twentieth-century Spain, as well as their connections to the revitalized medieval pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. Her work parallels contemporary architectural interventions with efforts along the pilgrimage route dating to the Middle Ages. Her research interests center around the roles of building and memory, travel and pilgrimage, and politics and culture.
