Students of all ages participated in last year’s MayFest.

SU Gears Up for MayFest ’07

The campus will come alive on April 24 with MayFest, a campus-wide celebration of SU student creativity and discovery. Thousands of students, parents, and alumni are expected to participate in concerts, performances, and exhibitions; academic discussions and presentations; and special interactive events, including science “magic” shows and robotics demonstrations. Also featured is the family-friendly MayFest After Dark, which includes an international festival and a performance of The Creation, Franz Joseph Haydn’s choral masterpiece.

“High school visitors come from as far away as Pennsylvania and New York City to partake in what is a vast outpouring of student talent and commitment to learning,” explains chemistry professor James T. Spencer, director of the Soling Program. MayFest is organized by Soling, which, in turn, is administered by The College.

Presenters and attendees, including parents, should register by March 1. To do so, visit mayfest.syr.edu.
