Life Sciences Complex Nearly a decade in the planning, the Life Sciences Complex will open in Fall 2008. The 200,000-square-foot facility will serve as academic home for hundreds of graduate and undergraduate researchers, including students taking life sciences courses as part of the liberal arts core, as well as faculty members engaged in advanced projects. The complex will give special support to interdisciplinary research in cell signaling (i.e., how cells communicate) and ecological/environmental biology. “These bold ventures place Syracuse University at an important scientific frontier,” says Donald Kennedy, editor-in-chief of Science magazine and president emeritus of Stanford University. A formal opening ceremony is scheduled for early November. More information will be made available at lifesciences.syr.edu. |
