Faculty Council
The College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Council provides the faculty with a small group of representatives to act on behalf of the faculty, to examine new ideas and proposals, to assist in policy development, and to identify and resolve problems.
Meetings: Meeting dates are established at the beginning of the academic year.

Humanities Council
The Humanities Council is dedicated to fostering a campus climate that ensures the continuation of a vibrant role for teaching the humanities and for engaging in intellectual discovery and exchange. The Council supports the discovery, production, preservation, critique, and dissemination of knowledge in and across the humanities disciplines broadly conceived.

Academic Committee
The Academic Committee oversees the academic status of students, the certification of degrees, the academic advising programs, and related efforts. The Committee meets monthly and holds two suspension appeals meetings each academic year.

Curriculum Committee
The Curriculum Committee exercises broad supervision over the courses and curricular programs of The College, does periodic reviews of the course structure and curricular programs and policies, and makes recommendations for changes.

Health Professions Advisory Committee
The Health Professions Advisory Committee is responsible for continuing review of all aspects of advising students interested in careers in the health professions and shall assist in advising the program's students and in writing letters of recommendation.

Committee on Instruction
Appointed annually by the Dean, the Committee on Instruction considers matters of policy pertaining to instruction and makes recommendations. The committee also accepts nominations for the William Wasserstrom Prize for the Teaching of Graduate Students. The award is presented annually at the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony on Commencement Weekend.

Committee on Student Standards
The Committee on Student Standards meets as needed when academic integrity hearings are requested. Training for Committee members is conducted by the University's Academic Integrity Office.

Promotion and Tenure Committee
The Promotion and Tenure Committee examines the cases of all currently non-tenured faculty members who are eligible to be considered for tenure and makes recommendations to the Dean of The College of Arts and Sciences and the Dean of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. The Promotion and Tenure Committee also considers recommendations for promotion and makes recommendations to the Senate Committee on Appointment and Promotion.

Science and Math Council
The Science and Math Council, composed of the chairs or representatives from the science and mathematics departments and chaired by the Assoc. Dean for Science and Math, focuses upon finding ways to enhance and promote excellence in scientific research and teaching in the sciences. The Council further looks to promote collaborative work between the departments and provide a forum for shared concerns and developing new and creative ideas and opportunities.
